Replacing my sliding glass patio doors with French doors, but the installation costs more than the doors! (Which includes the frame) Is it hard to do it myself?

Our living room is in the back of the house and we have french doors that open inside that lead to our patio. I make all of my own drapes and am just stumped as to what options I have with these new doors. I want a lined curtain of some sort and nothing swaggy. I've already chosen my fabrics, just looking for style ideas.
My husband likes to rest in there with the curtains closed and watch TV. I'm looking for something that can be pulled back.

I live in a townhome which the association requires that patio door replacements must conform with the rest of the units. After conferring with a number of window stores, it appears that my patio door (circa 1996) is no longer produced. So essentially, I am in need of a custom solution... made to order patio doors. Help!

Our 15 year old double glazed hard wood patio doors - used indoors so have no deterioration to wood. The tracks have worn out - and door will no longer slide. Seems a crime to dispose of door and fixed -leaf because track isnno longer available. Does anyone know a supplier or manufacturer - or have ideas as to how to repair this without wasting an otherwise perfectly sound door.
